The Loretto Sisters are marking a significant passage this month as they move from their current premises at 101 Mason Boulevard to Presentation Manor, a new senior’s residence for religious and lay persons. (Details of their transition can be found here.)
Because of their move – the first change in location after 90 years – they need to downsize. As such, the Loretto Sisters have decided to offer up surplus furnishing and dishes up for auction.
This is a rare opportunity to acquire that special antique or accent piece to cherish, just as we have for all these years. This sale will feature an extraordinary selection of Victorian furnishings including a large ornately carved sideboard, armories, country cupboards, extraordinary hall stand, numerous chairs, beautiful flamed mahogany breakfast table, mahogany sideboard, Asian carved chairs, antique oak desks, Gothic style chairs, hall tables, 2 dining room suites, set of leather arm chairs, dining chairs, numerous side tables, bedroom furniture, upholstered sofa and arm chairs, coffee and end tables, mirrors, plus a large selection of silver plate, glass, china sets, cups & saucers and much more.
The viewing took place this past Saturday at the Abbey. For Loretto Alumnae board members, Maureen Harquail and Anita Windisman, their visit to the school was a trip down memory lane. Photos taken by them both can be seen here:
